Andijan, at the eastern end of the valley and birthplace of Babur, is the terminus of the Fergana line. The fast morning train is there before noon, and the O'zbekiston evening express runs twice a week. Trains to the Fergana Valley climb over the Kamchik Pass through a long tunnel opened in 2016, the only rail link to the valley that stays inside Uzbekistan.
Fast and day trains use Tashkent North (Tashkent Central). Margilan station is the rail stop for Fergana city, about 15 km and 20 minutes by taxi away.
Tickets are sold on the official Uzbekistan Railways site, eticket.railway.uz, and in its UzRailways Tickets app, as well as at station ticket offices. Every ticket is issued to a named passenger, so you need the passport number when you buy and the passport itself when you board. Sales usually open about 45 days ahead, and the popular departures sell out well before that window closes in spring and autumn.

- — Andijan is the natural end of a valley trip that starts in Kokand: car through the valley, train back from Andijan, or the reverse.
- — The 07:20 fast train is the only departure that lands before lunch.
- — The evening trains arrive late; book a hotel close to the station or arrange a pick-up.
- — Some trains run via Namangan rather than Kokand; the route is printed under the train number on the booking site.
