A week is just enough to experience the highlights of Uzbekistan without rushing. Here is how we recommend spending seven unforgettable days on the Silk Road.
Days 1–2: Tashkent & Samarkand
Arrive in the capital, explore its bazaars and metro, then take the high-speed train to Samarkand and stand before the Registan as the sun sets.
Days 3–4: Samarkand & Bukhara
Dive deeper into Samarkand’s tombs and observatory, then journey to Bukhara — the most atmospheric of all the Silk Road cities.
Days 5–7: Bukhara & Khiva
Wander Bukhara’s car-free old town, cross the Kyzylkum desert to walled Khiva, and end your week inside one of the best-preserved medieval cities on earth.
