The Best Time to Visit Uzbekistan

By TourEast Team·March 12, 2026·6 min read

Spring and autumn are the sweet spots — but every season on the Silk Road has its own character. Here is how to choose your dates.

Uzbekistan is a year-round destination, but the experience changes dramatically with the seasons. Knowing what to expect helps you travel comfortably and see the country at its best.

Spring (April – May)

Spring is arguably the finest time to visit. Days are warm but not hot, gardens and steppe bloom, and the Navruz festivities in March add colour. This is peak season, so book accommodation early.

Autumn (September – October)

Autumn rivals spring: comfortable temperatures, clear skies and the bazaars overflowing with the harvest — pomegranates, melons and grapes. An ideal window for first-time visitors.

Summer (June – August)

Summers are hot, often exceeding 40°C in the desert cities. Travel is still very doable with early starts and afternoon breaks, and you will find fewer crowds and lower prices.

Winter (November – March)

Winter is quiet and atmospheric. Monuments dusted with snow are magical and you will often have them to yourself. Pack warm layers, especially for Khiva and the desert.
