The Silk Road without compromise: the best hotels in every city, business class on the high-speed train, a private guide and driver. Dinner in a courtyard to live maqom music, a Bukhara hammam on request, sunset from a Khiva rooftop. 10 days, just for you.
This is the Silk Road taken slowly and in comfort. From Tashkent, after a day room and an early dinner, the evening Afrosiyob train carries you in VIP class to Samarkand, where three nights leave time for the Registan at dawn and at dusk, the gilded interior of Gur-e-Amir and the paper mill at Konigil. A private drive with stops at the ceramic workshops of Gijduvan brings you to Bukhara, and a day across the Kyzylkum ends inside the walls of Khiva.
The days follow the sun rather than a timetable. Sightseeing starts early, when the madrasahs are cool and quiet, and stops for a long lunch and a rest at the hotel in the heat of the afternoon. Your guide in each city is a senior licensed specialist, your car is a recent air-conditioned model with the same driver throughout each region, and a TourEast trip manager is on a local number day and night.
Evenings are where the trip earns its name: dinner in a historic courtyard with musicians playing classical maqom, a rooftop facing the Kalyan Minaret as the lights come on, lunch in the yurt camp below the desert fortress of Ayaz-Kala. Hotels are the best available in each city, chosen for character as much as for stars. Dates, pace and hotels are tailored to you, and every element can be changed.
